Optimizacija SQL upita metodama Oracle podrške

Usprkos stalnom poboljšavanju Cost Based Optimizer-a, zbog kompleksnosti SQL jezika kao i distribucije podataka, problemi s izvršavanjem SQL upita predstavljaju najčešći tip problema s kojim se korisnici susreću.
Oracle Performance Team je tijekom desetljeća razvio nekoliko izvrsnih alata koji omogućuju brzu analizu, dijagnostiku i optimizaciju problematičnih SQL upita. Oracle je alate poput SQLT-a, koje i sami interno koriste za rješavanje performansnih problema, ponudio svim registriranim korisnicima Oracle Support-a i to posve besplatno.
Nažalost, i dalje velik broj Oracle korisnika nije upoznat sa prednostima koje donosi korištenje takvih alata.
Cilj ove prezentacije je detaljno predstavljanje mogućnosti ponuđenih alata.

SQL Optimization by using the Oracle Support way
Abstract:
Despite the continuous improvement of the Cost Based Optimizer, due to the complexity of SQL language and the distribution of data, issues with SQL execution are the most common type of the problems which users have to deal with.
Throughout decades, Oracle Performance Team has developed several excellent tools that enable us to do a quick analysis, diagnostics and optimization of problematic SQL queries. Tools such as SQLT, that Oracle technicians use internally to solve performance issues, are available free of charge for all registered users of Oracle Support.
Unfortunately, there are still many Oracle users who have not yet recognized the advantages of using it.
The main goal of this presentation is to demonstrate the capabilities of available tools.

Nakon završenog FER-a, radio sam kao developer/dba/softver arhitekt/konzultant za Oracle eBS. Trenutno radim na projektiranju/ implementaciji Oracle Retail softvera u Konzumu, jednom od najkompleksnijih projekata u regiji. Glavno područje interesa nalazim u optimizaciji kompleksnih IT sustava baziranih na Oracle i Open Source tehnologijama.

After FER, I’ve been working as a developer/dba/software architect/consultant for Oracle eBS. Currently I’m working on the design and implementation of the Oracle Retail in Konzum, one of the largest projects in this region. My main area of interest is the optimization of complex IT systems that are based on Oracle and Open Source technologies.
